Post date: Apr 1, 2015 2:41:46 PM

Laura Anderson is attending the 2015 National Youth Gathering in Detroit as a young adult volunteer. This is separate from the teenagers and their older adult chaperones/sponsors who are traveling together from Kittson County. Laura’s family is having a bake sale at First Lutheran Church on Sunday, April 12, after worship to help raise funds for her travel costs to Detroit where she will be working at the youth gathering. Any help to speed her on her way will be greatly appreciated.

The Bethel Women of Karlstad will have their annual spring supper on Thursday, April 9, from 4:30 to 6:30. This year they have designated the proceeds from the supper to help the local youth to attend the 2015 National Youth Gathering in Detroit in July. The youth are deeply appreciative of this generosity. Supplemental funds from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans have also been obtained for this event.

The National Youth Gathering Youth will once again be serving brunch at First Lutheran Church on Sunday, April 19, after morning worship as they continue to raise funds to attend the July 2015 event. Thank you for your generous support for their many fund raisers this year. First Lutheran Youth (FLY) will be joining other Kittson County Youth to travel together to Detroit stopping in Minneapolis for a “Feed My Starving Children” service event, briefly at the Mall of America, and at the Navy Pier in Chicago on the way home. Many of the events in Detroit will be a Ford Field.
